Redskins Draft Profiles: Xavier Su'a-Filo, OG

Su'a-Filo was one of the key players in bringing respectability back to UCLA. Lets see if he could have the same impact on any struggling pro teams.

Xavier Su’a-Filo

Offensive Guard

Height: 6’3"

Weight: 304

UCLA

Strengths: Su’a-Filo has the quick feet and strong frame to be a positive pass blocker in the NFL. He shows great initial punch and was able to create creases for a surprising UCLA run game. He is very strong and has the tools to develop into a top tier guard.

Weaknesses: Su’a-Filo does not have the same experience as some of the other guard prospects, due to spending two years serving as a missionary. His technique has some issues, including a tendency to reach on blitzers. He occasionally has trouble sustaining blocks.

Bottom Line: Su’a-Filo is one of the higher upside prospects in this class. He is strong and has good frame. Su’a-Filo would benefit from some time on the bench in the NFL so he could work on technical issues. If he is able to address these concerns, Su’a-filo should be able to meaningfully contribute.

Projected Round: 2nd

Team he fits best on: Xavier Su’a-Filo fills a desperate Cleveland need to solidify the offensive line. Because the team is rebuilding, they do not need to worry about bringing Su’a-Filo along quickly.
