Washington Redskins Draft Profiles: Anthony Barr, OLB

Redskins draft profile on outside linebacker Anthony Barr. Is he the next great pass rusher?

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Anthony Barr

Outside Linebacker (3-4)

Height: feet 6’4", Weight: 248 lbs

UCLA

Strengths: in 2013, Anthony Barr recorded 66 tackles (43 solo and 20 TFL), 10 sacks, 1 Pass defended, and 6 forced fumbles. Barr constantly generates pressure on quarterbacks and he could fit as an outside linebacker into a 3-4 and even possibly 4-3 defense.

Weaknesses: Bar played 4 years at UCLA, but his first two seasons were spent as a fullback. He is still learning the linebacker position and his run defense needs improvement. He is a raw prospect and he may need some time to develop before he can start in the NFL.

Bottom Line: The former fullback has been a monster as an outside linebacker the past two seasons at UCLA. Barr is a physically gifted athlete and he has all the tools needed to succeed on the NFL level. He just needs time to put it all together.

Projected round: 1

Team he fits best on: Titans, Vikings, Giants, and Redskins (If only)
