Washington Redskins Draft Profile: Travis Swanson, Center

Swanson has been a mainstay in Fayetteville. Will he have the same impact in the NFL?

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Travis Swanson

Center

Height: 6’5"

Weight: 305

Arkansas

Strengths: Swanson is one of the most experienced products starting 50 games for some up-and-down Arkansas teams. He is an excellent pass blocker and has a high football IQ. He is an adequate run blocker but there is room for improvement.

Weaknesses: Swanson is not an explosive athlete and is not expected to make any gains in that regard. Swanson also needs to work on his balance a bit as he ends up on the ground more than he should.

Bottom Line: I believe that Swanson is the best center in the draft and should be the first taken off the board. He shouls have an immediate impact for whatever team takes him.

Projected Round: 2nd-3rd

Team he fits best on: Swanson’s ability to start from day one would make a great fit for the San Francisco 49ers. Goodwin has grown old and they have a wealth of draft picks.
