Washington Redskins Draft Profiles: Calvin Pryor, FS

Hogs Haven takes a look at NFL prospects heading into the 2014 draft

Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Calvin Pryor

Free Safety

Height: 6'2", Weight: 208

Louisville

Strengths: Pryor can play both the free and strong safety positions. He was an aggressive tackler at Louisville, totaling 75 tackles in 2014.  Five and a half of those tackles were for a loss. Pryor finished the 2013 season with three interceptions and two forced fumbles and is quick, with a 40 yard dash time of 4.57 seconds.

Weaknesses: Pryor has two issues that may affect his draft position. The first issue is his lack of experience with man coverage. The other issue is Louisville's competition. The Cardinals did not face many ranked opponents which limited Pryor's exposure to top shelf receivers.

Bottom Line: Calvin Pryor has great potential. He's a hard hitting safety who can also provide run support. However his lack of experience with man coverage could lower his value in the draft.

Projected round: Late 1st or early 2nd

Team He Fits Best On: Pryor could be a good fit for the Redskins if the Eagles pass on him.
