Brandon Thomas
Offensive Guard/Tackle
Height: 6’3"
Weight: 316
Clemson University
Strengths: Thomas has a prototypical NFL guards build. He spent a lot of time at tackle in college and has the quick feet necessary for good pass protection. He has a very strong upper body, and can stonewall defensive linemen.
Weaknesses: Relies on his upper body and tends to lean on opposing linemen. Sometimes fails to drive defenders off the ball. Not as athletic as some other prospects, has limited effectiveness pulling.
Bottom Line: Thomas is near the top of the second-tier linemen. He will not be an opening day starter in the NFL, but his versatility means that he will be picked on the second day.
Projected Round: Late 3rd to 4th
Team he fits best on: Thomas’s versatility makes me think that he will be taken by a team with a solid, but aging offensive line. His ability to fill in anywhere across the line makes him a valuable commodity.
