HH's Hump Day NFL Pick'em Finale!!

Guess what day it is??? Mike Harar wraps up Year 2 of his weekly pick'em contest - with new and improved prizes!!

Welcome, everybody, to the final 2014 edition of the Hump Day NFL Pick'em, with special prizes brought to you each week by our friends at NRG!

In a final week befitting of the entire Redskins' season, the last game of the year involved a thorough butt-kicking by the hated rival Dallas Cowboys.  The best part of the game was the final whistle, indicating this dreadful season was over and we could now move on.  In a bit of a rebound week for the staff, we finished with an only somewhat embarrassing 7-9 record, giving us seven more points towards the season total.  Would any of our twenty contestants come close to beating that respectable (for us) number?  Here were the top 10 performers:

One last time for good measure, we had a two way tie at the top with ten points.  After our lovely assistant drew a name out of my favorite Redskins hat, the winner was:

Congrats to realrandyallen!!!!!!  Please email me your address and jersey size and we will get your jersey right out to you.

With our final week in the books, we finished with an overall season record of 112-140-4.  For those of you counting at home, that is two less victories than we had last year.  It just goes to show you that sometimes clearing house and starting over does not always equate to more wins (cough, cough Redskins).

In conclusion, it was the best of times.  It was the worst of times.  It was the worst of times because we had to sit and watch our Redskins struggle through the year.  With all the drama and talent of a day-time soap opera, our team finished with a disastrous four wins, and now have more questions than answers as we head into the offseason.  For the Pick'em, it was the best of times as we were lucky enough to be sponsored by NRG, who provided us with awesome prizes all year long. Our thanks goes out to them and we hope to partner with them again going forward.

We also want to give special thanks to our loyal readers and contestants, who hung with us week after week, and without whom we'd be nothing.

We hope everyone has a tremendous offseason and we look forward to seeing you all next year.  On a personal note, look for more articles and posts coming from me on Hogs Haven and, and listen to me and two of my best buds Marc Shea and Chris LeSage when we begin streaming our podcast, The District, every week on Thursday nights starting on January 8th.

Happy New Year to all!!!  We'll see you on the other side....
