Washington Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden will be back with the team and remain HC for next season according to NBC4 Washington's Diana Russini. He's just about to finish the first year of his five-year contract that guarantees him $20M. After starting the season 3-5, Gruden and the Redskins have lost six straight to fall to 3-11. They play the Philadelphia Eagles at 4:30PM this Saturday at FedEx Field.
Prior to signing on to become the Redskins' eighth HC under Dan Snyder, Gruden was the Bengals' OC for three years. No coach during Snyder's tenure as owner has lasted more than four years and none of them have had a winning season in their first year in Washington. This has been reported by CSNWashington and NBC4 Washington.
Jay Gruden told Redskins media he hasn't been assured his job is safe by Owner/GM but sources say "he's been told he'll return next season"
