So what do you need to win one of these shirts? It's simple. Just tell me a story about why Ryan Kerrigan is screaming in this commercial from a few years ago. Congratulations to kraftmattic and P_Hazard for their winning entries, and thanks to everyone else that entered. There were others that made me laugh, but I had to go with these two this time.
Ryan Kerrigan once again showed why he is the best player on defense this year by sacking Andrew Luck on the Colt's first play of the game. Luck fumbled the ball and Jason Hatcher recovered giving the Redskins the ball at the 15 yard line. This gives Kerrigan 9.5 HBKs sacks on the year, which is his best total as an NFL pro.
Kerrigan injured his wrist during the game, but was able to play through it. That's who Kerrigan is a tough consistent defender who plays through injuries and gets the job done. RyKer has been consistently getting to the QB since being drafted in the 1st round of the 2011 draft. This season Kerrigan started doing the best sack celebration in the league, and kicked it off during his 4 sack game against the Jaguars in Week 2. Since that game, he's done it 5.5 more times, and a few more on top that were called back. Kerrigan explained the origins of the "Heartbreak Kerrigan":
"[Redskins linebacker] Will Compton has been kind of getting in my ear for a while to do the Shawn Michaels from wrestling - the HBK," Kerrigan said. "All he kept saying was, ‘Hit the HBK, hit the HBK.' Finally, I did right by him and hit the HBK a couple times. On the second and third ones, when I didn't do it, he was giving me a bunch of hell on the sidelines, like, ‘Why didn't you do it? You need to trademark it.' I'm like, ‘Well, I can't trademark it, it's HBK.' But that's where it came from. You guys can thank Will Compton for the motivation for that one."
