The Redskins averaged 23rd in the Power Rankings last week after a huge victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. They came into Week 9 riding a two game win streak, and facing a Vikings team with the same 3-5 record. Robert Griffin III made his return to the team after missing the last 7 weeks. Unfortunately the Redskins lost to the Vikings by 3 points. The offense was able to post 26 points on a Top 10 defense, but the Redskins defense allowed 29 points (22 in the 2nd half) to a rookie QB who was struggling to score points. How much did the Redskins fall in the Power Rankings this week?

Washington lost 29-26 at Minnesota in a game that closed pick 'em with Robert Griffin III's return. The coin-flip loss kept the Redskins' power rating unchanged.
23. Washington Post(Greenberg)
Robert Griffin III started strong - he completed his first six passes out of the gate - but then went 12 for 22 for the remainder of the game. His interception at the end of the first half led to the Vikings' first score of the contest and then the Redskins defense did the rest of the damage from there.

RG3 is back and he will work his way into a winning QB but it will take another week or two. Alfred Morris should benefit from the return of Griffin.

One thing to know:
Just when you thought things were going to get better for the Redskins, they go full Redskins.
Rewatching that Robert Griffin III toss on fourth down with the game on the line was painful. I love Game Rewind, but not in this case. The good news is that Jay Gruden seems to have fallen back in like with Alfred Morris. Believe it or not, his 109 scrimmage yards were a season-high.

Not a comfortable return for Robert Griffin III, who was sacked five times Sunday (one shy of his career high). Colt McCoy (80.8) has the best QBR of a Washington starter.

RG3 was mixed in his return from an ankle injury, but expecting much more was unrealistic. What should have been realistic, or even expected, was the Redskins defense putting more pressure on Teddy Bridgewater after a huge performance against Dallas the previous week.

Robert Griffin III looked good. Not great, but nobody should have expected that in his first game back. He was good enough to feel OK about him going forward.
Getting Robert Griffin III back didn't help get a victory, but he did some good things. Now it's about his growth the rest of the way.

Aside from a couple ill-advised throws that stood out, Robert Griffin performed well in his return from injury. The defense deserves the blame for this loss after surrendering 22 points in the second half.
QB Robert Griffin III returned Sunday, and the short-lived good times ended. From the pregame bus crash to the reports of dysfunction to the Redskins' denials to a deflating defeat leading into the bye week, it was just like last season never ended and Mike Shanahan never left. Did Colt McCoy's Monday night in Dallas really happen?
27. USA Today
Ammo for critics - RG3 missed 10 throws, including killer incompletion on fourth down, after Colt McCoy had hit on 36 of 42.

Washington needed a win heading into its bye but blew three separate leads at Minnesota and had its two-game winning streak snapped. Host Bucs after the bye.

The Redskins were on a two game win streak and looked to extend it to three wins when they took an early 10 point lead. Unfortunately they couldn't hold on to the lead and failed to come from behind to win this game. They are on bye this week and have to fix major question marks in the secondary and along the offensive line.
