The Washington Redskins announced several roster moves today. As expected, they have activated WR Leonard Hankerson from the PUP list. This was the last week for the team to make a decision on whether they would activate him or place him on injured reserve. Hankerson has been rehabbing since tearing his ACL and LCL against the Eagles in Week 11 last season. He will be almost a full year removed from his surgery when he returns to practice with the team next week. This gives the Redskins 7 wide receivers on their 53-man roster.
The Redskins also announced they have waived CB Chase Minnifield to make room on the 53-man roster. Minnifield was signed after DeAngelo Hall went to IR and has been active for 6 games, recording 2 tackles. Minninifeld was an undrafted free agent in 2012 and has dealt with several knee injuries including microfracture surgery and a torn ACL his rookie year. He is still eligible for the practice squad, and will likely be signed there if he clears waivers.
The Redskins also waived OL Terren Jones from their practice squad. This leaves 3 spots open on the practice squad after Akeem Davis and Phillip Thomas were signed to the active roster in the last two weeks.
