Washington Redskins vs San Francisco 49ers Injury Reports

The 49ers and Redskins released their first injury reports of the week tonight.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Redskins are once again slightly healthier than the opposing team heading into the game, but there are some important name on the list this week.

The biggest concern for the Redskins, and Robert Griffin III's health, is Trent Williams' knee and ankle injuries.  He left Sunday's game early with an ankle sprain, and a more serious MCL sprain in his knee.  Williams is not expected to practice tomorrow, and his status is very doubtful for Sunday.

Chris Baker has an SC joint sprain according to Coach Gruden.  He did not practice today, and he is day to day.

TE Jordan Reed is back on the injury report with a hamstring injury.  Logan Paulsen has dropped off the list after being a gametime decision last week.

OG Shawn Lauvao is going through the NFL concussion protocol this week.  If he isn't able to practice by Friday, expect 3rd year guard Josh LeRibeus to get the start.

OLB Trent Murphy tore the PCL in his right knee against Dallas a month ago, and aggravated it on Sunday.  He was limited today, but Gruden said he could play through it depending on the amount of pain he is having in the knee.

Special shoutout to Tracy "Injury Re" Porter for playing in Sunday's game and keeping E.J. Biggers off the field.  We all believed in you, really I swear at least one of us did.

The 49ers are getting some players back this week.  NT Glenn Dorsey was activated from IR with designation to return this week.  He tore his biceps in August, and shows up on the injury report this week with a forearm injury.  Dorsey was limited in practice today.

NaVorro Bowman has returned to the team for his evaluation period, but is still not practicing with the team.  He will not play on Sunday. The 49ers also got Aldon Smith last week, and the Redskins should see more of him than the Giants did last week.

Offensive tackle Anthony Tackle is going through the concussion protocol this week.
