Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Lovie Smith has a weekly video segment on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers official website called Coach's Corner hosted by Scott Smith. In a segment posted today, Smith asked Lovie about the injury report and players getting healthy this week. Smith's response: "Doug Martin, Alterraun Verner both of those guys are making progress. And for the most part, except for those two, probably we'll have everyone to choose from on game day," The official injury reports released yesterday had only one player listed as OUT, RB Doug Martin. But the Bucs might be without their best cornerback for another week due to a hamstring injury.
Alterraun Verner was signed in the offseason from the Tennessee Titans during a Redskins-like free agent spending spree. He was coming off of a season with 5 INTs(1 Pick 6) and 22 Passes defended. Verner was limited in practice all week and the Bucs officially listed him as questionable yesterday on the injury report. If he misses the game tomorrow, the Bucs will have to replace him with career backup Crezdon Butler(and former Redskin!) to pair with 2nd year CB Johnthan Banks. DeSean Jackson and other Redskins receivers could be in for a big day tomorrow.
Bucs coach Lovie Smith said on team's official site that corner Alterraun Verner will miss second straight game due to hamstring injury.

Verner's absence likely means Bucs will start backup Crezdon Butler opposite Johnthan Banks. Tough break vs. Redskins' WRs Jackson/Garçon.
