Another week, and another long injury list for the Washington Redskins. We have 14 players on this week's list, the same amount as the previous week, but we are on another short week. The team also has to travel west this week to play the Arizona Cardinals. A cross country game on a short week is not the best time to get healthy, but the Redskins have a lot of key players that need to heal up quickly.
Robert Griffin III returned to the practice field today, and worked on the side with the other injured players. CSNWashington's Rich Tandler posted a short clip of Griffin going through a drill, and he honestly looked pretty good for this stage in his rehabilitation. Jay Gruden wouldn't give a definite timetable today, but he said when Griffin is ready to return to practice he will have to practice for at least a week or two before returning to the lineup. The countdown has started for RGIII's return.
Five other players did not practice today. LT Trent Williams injured his knee last week against the Giants, but was able to play against Seattle. He seemed to re-injure his knee on Monday, but returned to the game. His knee was wrapped tightly for extra stability during the game. Williams was given the day off today, and Jay Gruden said there's a chance he could miss the game Sunday, but he played this week in the same situation.
Ryan Clark and Brian Orakpo both injured their ankles during the Seahawks game, but were also able to return to the game.
Perry Riley, Jr sprained his MCL against the Seahawks, and there is a chance he will not be able to play Sunday vs the Cardinals. Riley was wearing a brace at practice today, and limping noticeably. Gruden has already said that Will Compton will be his replacement in the lineup if he is unable to play.
And our Injury Report All-Star is once again on the list this week. Tracy Porter re-injured his hamstring in the Giants game, and said today that it was not as bad as the original injury. See you next week Tracy!
The only player who was limited in practice today was TE Jordan Reed. Gruden and Reed are both hoping to have Reed back in the lineup this Sunday.
Seven players were listed on the injury report today, but were able to fully practice. DE Kedric Golston and S Trenton Robinson were the only ones who weren't active last week. Golston has had a groin injury that has caused him to miss most of the season, but he should be returning this week. Trenton Robinson had a high-ankle sprain 2 weeks ago, and could also return this week if he practices fully all week.
The other players listed were Jason Hatcher(hamstring), Frank Kearse(thigh), Shawn Lauvao(knee), Polumbus(finger), and Akeem Jordan(knee). Polumbus was the only player injured on Monday when he dislocated his finger and missed a handful of snaps. All five of them should be ready on to play on Sunday.

The Cardinals also have some significant names on their injury list this week. Calais Campbell was taken out of last week's with a chop block from Broncos TE Julius Thomas. Cardinal's Head Coach Bruce Arians called it the dirtiest play he's ever seen. He said it was premeditated and Thomas should be suspended for as long as Campbell is expected to be out(3-4 weeks). That didn't happen, and Thomas was only fined for the illegal block.
RB Andre Ellington, and CB Patrick Peterson were both limited today.
The biggest question mark for Sunday's game is who get the nod at quarterback with their top 2 QBs both limited today. Carson Palmer is fighting a shoulder injury that has kept him out for the last few weeks. Arians said he will be testing it out this week, and could play, but nothing is definite.
Drew Stanton got a concussion last week, and was cleared to throw and do some physical activity today. That leaves rookie QB Logan Thomas as the only healthy QB on the roster. The team also signed QB Dennis Dixon to their practice squad this week.
