Tennessee Titans vs Washington Redskins Injury Report

The Redskins injury list is finally a little smaller this week.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

We're down to 10 players on the injury list, so close to single digits!  Last week's 14 players seems like a distant memory as some players are finally healing up.  There were four players who were either held out of practice or unable to practice due to injury.

Ryan Clark, Akeem Jordan, and Trent Williams all played last week, but did not practice today.  Ryan Clark was nursing two injured ankles, but was in on 99% of the snaps at safety last week.  Gruden said last week that Clark is a veteran, and he's not as concerned if he needs to take days off during the week to heal up.

Akeem Jordan was in on over half of the snaps on special teams this week, which was  less than the 73% he played last week.

Trent Williams aggravated his knee when he attempted to make a tackle on an interception last week.  Williams was also wearing a compression sleeve to stabilize his kneecap which was slightly dislocated.  Williams knee continues to be a concern, and he will continue to get rest days until his knee is stable.

Three players were limited in practice today.  David Amerson suffered a concussion against the Cardinals and attempted to return to the game, but was not able to.  Amerson must now go through the concussion protocol before he can play.  Amerson being on the field now is a good sign that he will be cleared for Sunday's game.

Perry Riley missed last week's game due to a sprained MCL and was replaced by Will Compton, who some people think was an upgrade.  Riley needs to get back on the field, or competition and injury could cost him his starting position on the team.

Robert Griffin III was obviously the big name at practice today.  He is taking part in individual drills and throwing with receivers.  He took some snaps with the first team, but Coach Gruden said there is still no definitive timetable for when he will be able to return to the lineup.  He needs to get his mind and body right, and show the coach that he is ready, but Gruden made it clear in his presser today that Griffin is the starter when he returns.

Three players made the injury list this week, but were full participants in practice today.  Brian Orakpo is still dealing with an ankle (and finger) injury.

Trenton Robinson is also dealing with an ankle injury(high ankle sprain) that has kept him out several weeks.

Darrel Young showed up late last week on the injury report with a hamstring injury, and he was limited in the Cardinals game.  Young was able to fully practice today, which is a good sign for Alfred Morris and the Redskins running game.

Two Redskins were able to practice for the first time this year today, as WR Leonard Hankerson and DE Stephen Bowen re-joined the team.

The Titans have several players on their list this week as well.  The big name is QB Jake Locker who is dealing with a hand injury that kept him out last week.  He was limited at practice and sounds like he is looking to return this week vs the Redskins.  If he can't go, it will be Clipboard Jesus, Charlie Whitehurst taking over again.  But we all know it will be Locker this week...right?
