Mark Brunell on the Jay Gruden hire and Daniel Snyder’s desire to win
"Obviously it’s going to take both those guys to do their jobs very, very well," he said. "But RGIII, I believe, he needs to make the biggest adjustment because he simply has to play better. And he has to understand that he’s very fortunate to have Jay Gruden, a proven coach, great offensive mind. And really what I saw this year was a young man in his second year that, he’s got a lot of growing to do on the field. It’s not about RGIII. It’s about the Washington Redskins and that offense. I think they have a great leader in Jay Gruden. He worked wonders there in Cincinnati and he’s a proven football coach.

"You know, Atlanta’s coaching this game here at the Senior Bowl, and last year they were a few minutes away from being in the Super Bowl," Allen said "So things do change in the NFL, and they can change quickly. The Saints example, I think, is a great testament to coaching. It shows you what leadership, and losing Coach [Sean] Payton did for them for a year. We feel good about where we’re going. I think we’ll be healthier in a lot of areas heading into the offseason. But the key is, we’ve just got to keep working every day to get better."

Fletcher, who has said he was 99 percent sure he would retire after this season, didn't make the list because he's the best linebacker in the NFL (although he has been pretty good for this entire century). It's a testament to him carving out a 16-year NFL career coming out of John Carroll University, looked over initially because he is just 5-foot-10. But what Fletcher did was come to work every day. He is respected as a leader and for his toughness and longevity.
The Redskins Blog | A Chaplain Brought Mark Brunell To Washington, And The QB Saved Joe Gibbs’ Life
"If I remember correctly, he got off the jet at St. Augustine airport and said, ‘Hey, listen, I either took the wrong medication. I didn’t take enough or too much. I don’t know, but you’ve got to get me to the hospital.’ I thought. I’ve got Joe Gibbs, Hall-of-Fame coach, an NFL legend, and his life is in my hands right now. So we get in the car and get to the hospital, the closest hospital I could find. He turned out to be fine. They checked him. We were probably at the hospital for about three hours. But during that time, those three hours, we just got to hang out, talk football. While it was not under the best circumstance, I did get to spend some time with my future head coach."
