Redskins dispute report that they failed to cancel interviews | Comcast SportsNet Washington
The Redskins, however, are disputing that report. According senior vice president Tony Wyllie, the team requested and was granted permission by the 49ers to speak to Roman and Fangio. But Wyllie was adamant that actual interviews were never scheduled. "We requested and were granted permission but a date for the interviews was never scheduled," Wyllie said. "So the report is wrong. "We’d go back and forth in meetings on scheme, why and how. There was always an answer. I love that in a coach. "Two years ago I said if anyone becomes a head coach on this staff it would be Sean McVay."
