2014 Player Profile on Redskins Running Back Evan Royster

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Evan Royster

Running Back

Penn State

2011 Draft: 6th Round (177 Overall)

Twitter Handle: @Evan_Royster

Career Stats: 81 Carries, 416 yards, 2 Touchdowns, 25 Receptions, 180 yards

2013 Stats: 2 carries for 0 yards, 1 reception for 3 yards

2014 Outlook:

Royster is going to compete for a roster spot at a very crowded position. Alfred Morris will be the starter and Seastrunk will be the change of pace guy. That leaves about 1 or 2 spots for another running back. Helu has experience as an every down back and receiving back. Chris Thompson and Silas Redd are also on the roster, but Redd will likely be a practice squad player. That leaves Helu, Thompson, and Royster competing for the last 1-2 spots, and royster may be the odd man out on this one. Thompson and Helu are pass catching backs, which the Redskins need with Seastrunk’s lack of experience catching passes.

Personal Information:

Silas and Evan, both former PSU guys, know each other well, his favorite girl scout cookie is an interesting choice, and he shares the funny things that he hears people say. If that is not worth a follow, I do not know what is:
