Washington Redskins Draft Profiles: Khalil Mack, OLB

Hogs haven draft profiles on Khalil Mack. Is he the best OLB in the draft?

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Spor

Khalil Mack

Outside Linebacker (3-4)

Height: feet 6’3", Weight: 248 lbs

Buffalo

Strengths: Mack is an excellent 3-4 linebacker and he could play defensive end as well. In 2013, he recorded 100 tackles (56 solo and 19 TFL), 10.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 fumbles recovered. In the biggest game of his career against Ohio State, he recorded 9 tackles, 2.5 sacks and added a pick 6. It was a spectacular play. Mack is also a great run stopper and he looks comfortable dropping back into coverage.

Weaknesses: Mack’s game has very few weaknesses based on his game tape. The primary concern with him is his lower level of competition in the MAC. He also has some issues shedding his blockers on running plays that are visible against Ohio State.

Bottom Line: Any team would enjoy having this player. Every team with a 3-4 defense wishes they could pick him. Mack is a stellar player that plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Projected round: 1

Team he fits best on: Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings and Washington Redskins (If we were lucky)
