One of the many bits of information that Coach Mike Shanahan revealed in a press conference at the NFL owners meetings was that he expected Rex Grossman to re-sign with the Redskins in 2013.

He wasn’t bluffing.

ProFootballTalk.com reported Wednesday that the team has once again decided to bring back the veteran quarterback for a one-year deal, with this news coming a day after the team agreed in principle to sign quarterback Pat White.

Despite White’s signing, Grossman’s veteran presence and knowledge of Kyle Shanahan’s offense will likely warrant him a roster spot for the upcoming season.

After starting the 13 games of the 2011 season and seeing time as a starter in 2010, Grossman sat behind Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins on the depth chart for all of 2012 and was activated for just two games.

Grossman will be entering his 12th NFL season, and has a career quarterback rating of 71.4 while throwing 56 touchdowns and 60 interceptions in 54 games played.
