…Running back Roy Helu suffered a setback in his recovery from turf toe, but coach Mike Shanahan said he’s nearly 100 percent. Helu played in only three games last season because of the injury on his left foot. Safety Reed Doughty also is dealing with the same issue, though Shanahan said the veteran is nearly 100 percent as well. As for Helu, Shanahan knows he would help the offense because of his speed. "Anytime you get guys that can run it helps you," Shanahan said. "You’re always looking for a guy that has the ability to make plays." …Linebacker London Fletcher, who underwent elbow and ankle surgery in late winter, already has returned to the weight room. Shanahan said the elbow surgery relieved a "lot of tension". …Shanahan said linebacker Brian Orakpo is fully recovered from his torn triceps last September. Meanwhile, linebacker Keenan Robinson, who suffered the same injury in November, should be ready for organized team activities next month.

"There’s a lot of guys that will be picked in that third, fourth, fifth round that are football players," Shanahan said. "You just hope you get the right guy. … Other times, you miss out."
