BREAKING NEWS: Redskins Release CB Korey Lindsey

Redskins release CB Korey Lindsey due to non-football injury (gall bladder removed last week).

According to Adam Caplan, Redskins have waived CB Korey Lindsey due to a non-football injury.

Who is that you say (I know I did)?

Well...back in December he was signed to the practice squad after Tom Compton was called up to the active roster. In January, Lindsey was signed to a futures contract. He is 24 y/o and played football at Southern Illinois University before being drafted in the 7th round by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2011. Lindsey was released during final preseason roster cutdowns and then was signed to the Arizona Cardinals Practice Squad. In 2012 he was claimed by Indianapolis Colts and didn't make the cut before being signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad and then after being released was signed by the Redskins. It does not appear as though he ever touched the field and recorded a single stat.

According to Zac Boyer, Lindsey had his galbladder removed last week.

While we should all wish him well and a speedy return to the field, I don't believe this is a significant loss. I will reserve my Colt Brennan level rant for when/if this guy turns into the next Revis. Until then...nothing to see here really.
