Could Chase Minnifield be Ready for 2013?

CSN's Tarik EL-Bashir gives us an update on Redskins cornerback Chase Minnifield.

Many Redskins fans have been hopefully optimistic about cornerback Chase Minnifield since he was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia in 2012. Chase impressed during OTA's and mini-camp before sustaining an ACL injury(his second), that sidelined him for the 2012 season.

Now hell-bent on returning, and proving he can play at a high level, the doors have opened for Minnifield, who turns 24 this week. The departures of DeAngelo Hall and Cedric Griffin leave a big hole in the Redskins secondary. The Redskins return Josh Wilson and Richard Crawford, who both got starting time last season, and newly signed free agent E.J. Biggers from Tampa Bay.

I have been silently cautious about Minnifield ever since was signed by the Redskins last year after the draft. The past injury concerns, mainly the mircofracture procedure he had in Jan. 2012, scare me. He is a larger corner, but does not play as physical as I would like.
