This is a follow-up to my post on drafting a wide receiver with our first pick. See what you think.
Which mock do you prefer?
2nd: Justin Hunter(WR - Tennessee) Hunter offers number one potential at the wider receiver position. He also offers height and speed.
3rd: Bicarri Rambo(S - Georgia) Rambo is a physical safety who can play either free of strong in the NFL. He comes with some baggage, but he should be a value pick in the third.
4th: Tyrann Mathieu(CB - LSU) Mathieu may not last this long after a strong showing at the combine, but he would be an immediate upgrade at nickle corner, and as a punt return specialist.
5th: Xavier Nixon(OT - Florida) Nixon was a highly regarded recruit who never really lived up to the hype at Florida. He has a ton of talent, and with some good coaching he could be a starting right tackle in the NFL.
5th: Ray-Ray Armstrong(S - Miami) Armstrong is another talented safety who ran into some off-field trouble. If he can straighten himself out, he has a chance to stick in the league.
6th: Jake Stoneburner(TE - Ohio St) Stoneburner is your new-bread “Y" tight end that many teams covet. He can play in-line or flexed in the slot.
7th: Mike Mauti(LB - PSU) Without the knee injury, Mauti would have been a second round pick. Is he able to return to form that saw him become a first team All-Big 10 selection?
