It's been another tough season to be a Redskins fan, but by now, we should all be immune to the disappointment. Our quarterback suffered a sophomore slump, our line, believe it of not, actually got worse, our all-everything linebacker came back down to earth, and the once famed coach who was to lead us back to the promised land did a huge belly-flop into a small kiddy pool containing no water.
Yes,........tis the season to be Merry!
But among all the turmoil this wretched season has brought upon us, I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts with everyone.
First, despite what some people may feel, we really are not that far off from competing. Sure, it will take a creative free agent signing period, and a masterful draft, but if the Kansas City Chiefs can bounce back like they did this season, I'm confident the Redskins can do it next season.
Second, with or without Mike Shanahan at the helm next season, the Redskins will certainly be undergoing some coaching changes, that I'm sure will bring a smile to the lips of many. The big story is who could replace Shanahan if he is fired by Synder, but an even bigger one could be who will become offensive, defensive and special teams coordinators, and what kind of systems they will bring with them. Will we see a return of the 4-3? Could we see a more quarterback friendly offense?
Finally, what will happen to Bruce Allen? Will he remain in his role as GM, or will he accept a more appropriate position as director of ____________? Can we get a GM who can evaluate talent, and build this team the right way?
Anyways, I want to move away from the Redskins a bit, and just tell everyone here on HogsHaven how much you all are appreciated by myself and the rest of our great staff. You guys and girls really make this the best Redskins site on the planet!
I want to take this time to wish each and every one of you, your families and friends, a wonderful, safe holiday season. You are all very special to me in your own unique way, and I'm proud to call you my Redskins Family!
Merry Christmas.
