The midway point of the 2013 NFL season is upon us. Hogs Haven has teamed up with Capital One Bank to present the most improved player over the first half of the season.
OK, so here are the nominees. This is a tough one since all these players were exceptional last season. Garcon I think has taken his game to the next level since he is healthy.
Ryan Kerrigan - In his rookie year, Kerrigan had 7.5 sacks and 4 forced fumbles. 2012 brought 8.5 sacks and 2 FF. In 2013 he already has 6.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles.
Pierre Garcon - Garcon already has 61 receptions for 803 yards...well past his totals for 10 games last season. He seems to make an amazing one-handed catch every week.
Alfred Morris - Morris likely won't match his 2012 season totals of 335 rushing attempts for 1,613 yards and 13 TDs, but he's been a workhorse for an unbalanced offense. His current numbers are: 159 attempts, 825 yards, 5 TDs.
Robert Griffin III - (Homer alert) While he had a slow start and the Redskins only have two wins, he is on pace to break the Redskins' season passing record and has been a victim of some key drops and questionable play-calling.
DeAngelo Hall - Had four interceptions last year and who knows how many personal fouls. He's continued his solid finish of the 2012 season with consistency this year. He already has three INTs, two forced fumbles, and he's on pace for the same number of tackles and passes defended.
Honorable Mention: Roy Helu, Jr. He only has 40 rushes and 17 receptions, so not a lot to work with there. He did have three rushing TDs vs the Bears.
I was really hoping Hankerson and Alridck Robinsonwould make this list but it just hasn't happened.
