The Washington Redskins are actively shopping tight end Fred Davisaccording to Pro Football Talk. The reason for Washington's interest in dealing Davis could be because of the emergence of rookie Jordan Reed. Davis, 27, is currently playing on a one-year deal.

Davis has been with the Redskins for six seasons and was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by Washington. The former USC Trojan was slapped with the franchise tag during the 2012 offseason but suffered an Achilles tendon tear during last season, which cost him the final nine games of the campaign.

He has caught just three passes for 25 yards this season and has only started two games, despite being productive throughout his career. He has caught 158 passes for 1,998 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in six seasons with Washington.

The trade deadline for the NFL is on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
