The Washington Redskins will need to take on the Cincinnati Bengals without wide receiver Pierre Garcon, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that he is officially out for Sunday's Week 3 matchup. Garcon was listed as doubtful on the team's official injury report Friday, after being a limited participant in practice all week. Garcon is presently recovering from a foot injury.
Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III is still establishing who his favorite targets are, but it's clear that Garcon will be missed regardless. In Week 1, Griffin passed for 320 yards and looked dominant, but when Garcon was absent in Week 2 against the St. Louis Rams, Griffin threw for just 206 yards. Garcon had four receptions for 109 yards, including a touchdown, in Washington's Week 1 win.
It's likely that Joshua Morgan and the young Leonard Hankerson will get more looks with Garcon out, while Santana Moss' spot on the depth chart has never been in doubt. There's also unheralded rookie Aldrick Robinson, who managed to snag four passes for 52 yards in Week 1.
