Week One College Football Round-Up

I know week one is not quite over yet(sorry to the VT fans), but here are some note-worthy performances for the first week of the college football season:

Geno Smith(QB - WVU): Remember how much fun it was to watch RG3 games last year? Well, we have another quarterback with that type of MoJo. Smith was electric in his season opener, going 32-36, 323 yards and four TD's. He added another 65 yards rushing and a TD. Can anyone say "Heisman favorite"? Note - it was against Marshal.

Matt Barkley(QB - USC): Everyone's quarterback darling from last season returned to guide his team to a 49-10 trouncing of Hawaii. Barkley was 23-38, 372 yards and 4 TD's.

Tyler Wilson(QB - Arkansas): Wilson was electric, going 19-27, 367 yards and three TD's.

Taylor Martinez(QB - Nebraska): Martinez went 26-34 for 364 yards and five TD's against Southern Miss.

Kenny Stills(WR - OK): Stills, who is 100% healthy, caught six passes for 121 yards and a TD. One of those receptions was a 68 yard score from Landry Jones.

Redskins prospects of interest:

Montee Ball(RB - Wisc.): Ball carried 32 times for 120 yards and a TD. He added three receptions for 31 yards.

Andre Ellington(RB - Clemson): The speedster rushed 26 times for 231 yards, and had a long of 68 yards.

Marcus Lattimore(RB - S. Carolina): Lattimore rushed 23 times for 110 yards and two TD's.

Le'Veon Bell(RB - Mich. St.): The 6'2" 244 pound back carried 44 times(let me repeat that.......44 times!)for 210 yards and two TD's on Friday night against Boise St.

Kenny Vaccaro(S - Texas): Vaccaro had five tackles and one INT against Wyoming.

Eric Reid(S - LSU): Reid had 7 tackles, one pass defended and one INT against North Texas.

Tony Jefferson(S - Oklahoma): Jefferson had 10 tackles and one pass defended against UTEP.

Dee Milliner(CB - Alabama): Milner had five tackles, four passes defended and one INT against Denard Robinson's Michigan squad.

Xavier Rhodes(CB - Florida St.): Rhodes had five tackles, two passes defended, and one INT against Murray State.

Carrington Byndom(CB - Texas): Byndom had four tackles and one INT against Wyoming.

Taylor Lewan(OT - Michigan): Lewan struggled against the Alabama front seven, as Michigan was only able to gain 69 yards rushing, and just 269 total yards.

Chris Faulk(OT - LSU): Faulk helped pave the way for 316 rushing yards and 508 total yards in LSU's 41-14 victory over North Texas.

D.J. Fluker(OT - Michigan): Fluker helped Bama account for 232 yards rushing against Michigan. He looked like a man amongst boys on the field.

**Note - Texas A&M's game against Louisiana Tech was postponed. The Aggies have two top offensive tackle prospects in Jake Matthews and Luke Joeckel.
