I'm sure many hoped the Redskins would replace Nick Sundberg with former Skin Ethan Albright (mainly for his Madden skills), but the Skins front office has looked elsewhere for a replacement. This morning the Skins signed veteran long snapper Justin Snow. Sundberg has been placed on IR designated for return.
Snow is 35 and has spent the last twelve years as a member of the Indianapolis Colts. Snow played his college ball at Baylor and has a master's in speech pathology. In 2003 Snow, Mike Vanderjagt, and Hunter Smith became the first long snapper, holder, kicker combo to go an entire NFL season without missing a field goal or point-after attempt.
The Skins also signed former Navy running back Eric Kettani and Tennessee State running back Javarris Williams to the practice squad. Kettani signed with the Patriots as a undrafted free agent in 2009 and was a member of their practice squad in 2011, but the fullback has been in and out of military service. Williams is in his fourth year in the league and has spent time with the Chiefs, Texans, Seahawks, and most recently with the Cowboys.
Antwon Bailey, Robert Hughes, and Jason Shirley were all cut from the practice squad.
