Q&A with Ryan Kerrigan - Rich Tandler's Real Redskins
Second-year Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan stopped by the Comcast SportsNet studios last week and talked to us about the upcoming season. You’ve talked about the need to get more consistent. What specifically do you have to do to accomplish that? It’s just little things. It’s taking a good pad level every snap, good hand placement. It’s just little things. Not false stepping when I’m coming out of my stance and being able to produce week in and week out.

The Redskins defense has undergone a massive overhaul over the last three seasons, gaining the quick, strong front seven necessary to operate the 3-4 defense in the process. Returning players Reed Doughty, DeJon Gomes and veteran addition Madieu Williams will all get a shot to crack the line-up. Even if Meriweather and Jackson break camp as the starters, expect this battle to go on all season.

Football Is Back At Redskins Park
"I made a couple of stops [at Redskins Park] over vacation, but this is my first time being here for the whole day," veteran Lorenzo Alexander said between meetings. "For me, getting back to work is really exciting." This is Alexander's seventh camp with the team, as he returns as one of the senior-most Redskins. "I’m ready to go," he said. The Redskins announced yesterday that they have released rookie free agent cornerback Chase Minnifield. If, as his agent believes, he goes unclaimed he will revert to the Redskins injured reserve list.

" 3 AM Thoughts: As Training Camp Dawns, Hope Needs to Return to Redskins Nation
What made me a Redskins fan wasn’t the Monday Night Miracle, or Sean Taylor, or the three Super Bowl wins. It wasn’t Clinton Portis. It wasn’t Santana Moss or Chris Cooley, or the shiny new left tackle Trent Williams. It was this guy. It was Anthony Armstrong. It was his whole story.
Quarterback Cam Newton was a freak of nature. The quarterback class this year has a lot to live up to. While it is doubtful that any of the incoming quarterbacks will get close to Newton's year last season, there is one who will have a good enough year. Robert Griffin III is the most notable. Griffin has landed in the best position. He will be passing to Santana Moss, Chris Cooley and Fred Davis. Griffin can hand the ball off to Roy Helu, Tim Hightower or Evan Royster. Mike Shanahan will model the offense around Griffin's talents, which include a rocket arm and the ability to run. Griffin won't reach Cam Newton's numbers but he will be productive.
