We chronicled the story of Brian Banks and the Redskins interest in the former high school star a couple of weeks ago. It was thought that Banks would come in for a workout in Ashburn but it seems as if Pete Carroll has beat the team to the punch.
After working out for the Seahawks, Carroll invited Banks to the team's mini-camp later this week. Banks has accepted the invitation and will now compete for a spot on the Seahawks training camp roster. Before heading out to Seattle, Banks will work out for Romeo Crennel and the Kansas City Chiefs either today or tomorrow.
There is still a chance Banks could find himself working out in burgundy and gold. If the Seahawks do not keep Banks after this week then expect him to continue his tryout tour around the NFL. Banks has also received an offer to work in the front office, in some capacity, for the Arizona Diamondbacks. However this ends up, it is just great to see Banks being given the opportunity to fulfill his dream after years of living a nightmare.
