Texans agree to deal with QB John Beck.

Beck will likely compete for the number three quarterback spot with undrafted rookie Case Keenum. Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates have the top two spots on the depth chart locked in.
It's pretty clear the Texans did not look at any of John Beck's 2011 regular season game film (4 games, 16 sacks, 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 3 fumbles). If you recall, Kyle Shanahan rated John Beck as the top QB prospect in the 2007 draft. Reportedly, others still with the Texans organization feel that way too and are willing to give him a shot. I'm sure Texans Coach Kubiak at least called Shanahan to ping him on how bad/rad Beck's skills are.
Here's a photo summary I've put together:
He's well grounded. |
|
Has the born, natural ability to fumble away from the pressure. |
|
His teammates love him. |
|
He's close with some of the best QBs in the league. |
