Redskins Draft Picks 2012: Washington Selects Josh LeRibeus At No. 71

The Washington Redskins got back on the board in the third round as they selected SMU offensive guard Josh LeRibeus. The Redskins traded away their second round pick as part of the trade that netted Robert Griffin III. The addition of LeRibeus is a step towards improving the offensive line and keeping RG3 in one piece.

Mike Mayock's initial thoughts are that LeRibeus is a tough guy who has nasty disposition. The scouting reports indicate he is not the most athletic of linemen, but he can do a good job as pulling guard. According to SI.com, LeRibeus "displays solid overall body strength, plays with good quickness and keeps his head on a swivel. Recognizes stunts or twists thrown by opponents and plays with awareness."

The Redskins will be back up on day three with the seventh pick of the fourth round. Here is some video of LeRibeus at the SMU Pro Day this spring.
