Redskins Cut Mike Sellers

Via Comcast Sports Net, the Redskins have parted ways with the longest tenured Redskin, Mike Sellers. This is a surprise to no one, and Sellers was the ultimate teammate last season mentoring Darrel Young at Fullback while he vanquished his starting spot. Best of luck to Mike. Here are some stats and notes from the 36 year old running back:

  • Signed as undrafted free agent in 1998 after playing three years with the Edmonton Eskimos (CFL)
  • Played one year with Cleveland in 2001
  • Returned to the CFL from 2002-2003 (Winnipeg Blue Bombers)
  • Redskins gave him another chance in 2004 and he's been on the roster since.
  • Career: 50 rushing attempts, 3 rushing TDs, 18 receiving TDs in his 12 year career.

And Sellers is afraid of snakes...
