A Collection of Current RG3 to Redskins Trade-Up Rumors

Man, rumors are swirling everywhere. Here's the three rumors/comments I've seen so far:

  • The Redskins, according to people with knowledge of the situation, are willing to pay a handsome price that would include two first-round picks - this year's sixth overall and next year's top pick - as well as other picks in the upper to mid-round range. [via WaPost]
  • According to the source, Mike Shanahan's team has offered the No. 6 and No. 39 overall picks, along with a third round pick and a second round pick in the 2013 draft. [via NFL Authority blog]
  • "I hate to say this, but this could be three number ones," Casserly said. "Okay, now how does Washington beat [Cleveland's offer]? Cleveland, to me, is the team to beat in this. And Cleveland has one other advantage, and I don't know if St. Louis will play this card, because I would: Keep him out of your conference." [via 106.7]
We know how much Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen value drafts picks. To trade up only four spots, the Redskins would not need to give up 3 first rounders, nor would Shanahan ever go for that (I'm seriously hoping). I think bullet #2 makes the most sense. The Redskins will be able to get a deal done and keep a high pick in this draft and next.
