Washington Redskins wide receiver Leonard Hankerson tweeted that he is due to have surgery on his injured hip on Tueday, but that he should be back before the start of training camp.

The Redskins drafted Hankerson with their third round pick in the 2011 NFL draft and gradually eased him into the team. He started the week ten loss to the Miami Dolphins, making eight receptions for 106 yards (his first career 100= yard game) before leaving the game with a hip injury that later saw him on injured reserve.
Update:
Chris Russell of ESPN980 just tweeted that Hankerson has already had the surgery.
I was confused on @HankTime85tweet, so reached out via text & he clarified. The surgery is already done. Not this upcoming Tues. #Redskins
