Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was selected to the Pro Bowl in his rookie season. RGIII was the only offensive or defensive rookie selected to the Pro Bowl this season; Vikings rookie kicker Blair Walsh was also selected.
RGIII, the second pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, was one of the three NFC quarterbacks selected. Griffin has led the Redskins to a 9-6 record and has Washington one game away from the playoffs. So far this season he has passed for 3,100 yards and 20 touchdowns to only five interceptions, with a 104.1 passer rating. Griffin has also ran for 752 yards and six touchdowns. He has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season and the NFL Rookie of the Week six times.
There were several other potentially deserving rookies who were not selected including quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson, RGIII's teammate running back Alfred Morris, and Vikings tackle Matt Kalil, who led fan voting at his position. Full Pro Bowl rosters will be announced at 7 p.m. ET.
