Screw Corner or Safety - I want Jarvis Jones

New, comments

Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones is one of college football's most disruptive defenders.

I know, I've heard the story already - But Tiller, we need defensive backs! - and I agree. But..........Jarvis Jones is a freakin man-child! You know how those little girls run around in a frenzy about Justin whatever-the-hell-his-name-is? Well, I am doing the same over Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones, and here is why.

At 6'3" 241 pounds, and running a 4.55 40, Jones has been a one-man-wrecking-crew this fall for the Georgia Bulldogs. This man can do it all from his linebacker position. Notre Dame's Manti Te'o may be getting all the hype, but it's all smoke and mirrors compared to what Jones is doing on the field this year. Sure Te'o's five tackles per game, and five interceptions(which is tied for second in all of the FBS)garners him much deserved hype, and having a top 10 defense doesn't hurt either.......... and "THE STORY", which I'm sure you all know by now, has put him into the public's eys, but is he truly the best linebacker in college football?

Draft pundits will tell you yes, as many project him to be the first linebacker taken, and a top 15 pick, but if you believe stats don't lie, than take a look at this:

Jarvis Jones(thru 8 games)

5.33 tackles per game

12 tackles for loss

8 sacks

5 forced fumbles

Oh, and by the way, he almost single-handedly won the game for the Bulldogs against Florida.

So please Vinny Bruce, if you happen to read HogsHaven, or follow @PSUHomer on the ole' Twitter machine(as Diesel likes to call it), work some of your magic (and it may just take that to get him), and bring us Jarvis Jones............we all know London Fletcher can't play forever.

Here are some highlights for you to enjoy!
