RG3 Report: Redskins 38, Cowboys 31 | WashingtonExaminer.com
The zone read fake completely froze the safety on Aldrick Robinson’s 68-yarder. Griffin hung with the fake a long time, keeping the safety flat footed. That’s all Robinson needed. At times I’m not sure Dallas knew how it wanted to attack Griffin in the zone read game. The outside ‘backers bit hard on those fakes, getting too far inside so when Alfred Morris wouldn’t get the ball, they couldn’t react.
Redskins vs. Cowboys: Ten Observations | WashingtonExaminer.com
Now we can start talking playoffs, especially if the Giants lose to Green Bay Sunday night. The Redskins can legitimately enter every game the rest of the season thinking they can win. The AFC North hasn’t been kind to the NFC East this season so the game vs. Baltimore will be the toughest one. But it’s at home and it could be that the Redskins are on a three-game win streak.
Redskins Beat Dallas Postgame Audio: Shanahan, RG3, Moss & Many More! " CBS DC
"I think he learns every game," Shanahan said about Griffin III. "He’s very tough on himself." Griffin III did throw one interception, which was only his fourth of the season. "I couldn’t have had a better homecoming, or as my dad says, ‘a business trip’," Griffin III said.
a redskins life: keeping up with ryan kerrigan | Damn it feels good to be a homer.
"That was actually my parents’ decision," he said. "My dad’s middle name is Patrick and they wanted to name me after my dad, but they didn’t want to have too much confusion. They did the same thing with my brother because my dad’s name is Brendan and they named my brother Brendan Kyle Kerrigan. They wanted to name him after my dad without too much confusion, so they call him Kyle."
Robert Griffin III continues to rewrite record books
With five games remaining, Griffin is on pace to throw for 3,642 yards with 23 touchdowns and just six interceptions, and 934 rushing yards.
DeAngelo Hall makes clutch plays on defense, special teams
"We just knew we had a chance. Statistically, we had a chance," Hall said. "The defense had played terrible up until [the bye]. We still gave up a lot of yards [to Dallas], but we kind of went into a preventative type defense in the second half. We probably should’ve stayed more aggressive. But we knew we had a chance to be a good football team at some point. We started off bad, but we’re starting to hone in, starting to pay attention to detail and getting the job done."
Kai Forbath comes through again for Redskins
"I just went out there and just said, ‘We made this kick 10 times in warmups today. Why not make it now? There’s no reason to miss it,’ " Forbath said. "I hit it good. Good snap, good hold, good protection and just keeping the streak going. I’m just taking one kick at a time."
London Fletcher extends streak but fails to finish against Cowboys
"Actually I tweaked it early, probably in that first series," Fletcher said. "I tweaked it. And then late in the game, I tweaked it again and I knew at that point I wasn’t coming back. I just didn’t feel I could go out and be effective. I said, ‘You know what, it would be selfish of me to try to go out there and keep playing.’ So I just let the coaches know I couldn’t go any more."

Could RG3 be MVP? - NFC East Blog - ESPN
The likelihood of that happening remains slim, of course, and along with it the likelihood of Griffin doubling up on Rookie of the Year and MVP. But to lock in on that kind of triviality is to miss the point of what we're watching here. Which is the early part of what looks to be the brilliant career of an MVP-type player who's got a chance to find himself in that conversation for years to come.
Need to Know: Morris comes up big on first down - Rich Tandler's Real Redskins
The rookie was particularly helpful to the Redskins on first down. He had 14 first-down carries for 72 yards, a healthy average of 5.1 yards a pop. Second and five is a great place to be on a consistent basis. It opens up almost the entire playbook for Kyle Shanahan. It is no coincidence that after Morris’ successful first-down runs the Redskins converted on 50 percent of their third downs (6-12).
Redskins rebound from rock bottom - Rich Tandler's Real Redskins
The odds are still against the Redskins making the playoffs. But the fact that they even have a somewhat realistic chance to make it shows just how quickly things can turn around in the NFL. A two game winning steak, a few favorable results in other games, and, boom, they are back in the picture. After the Panthers game, Shanahan said that the Redskins have made "tremendous strides" but many fans were wondering when the improvements would show up in the win column. We’re seeing it now.
Pierre Garcon's blazing speed back again - Washington Times
Instead, Garcon showed the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday why the Washington Redskins heaped $42.5 million over five years on him during the offseason. And in the midst of a 59-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown that silenced 90,166 once-deafening fans inside Cowboys Stadium, Garcon provided a glimpse of how his speed can transform an offense.
DALY: Redskins rising from the ashes in two wins, five days - Washington Times
As Griffin put it, "We were showing not just ourselves and the Cowboys but everybody what we’re capable of." To which Kory Lichtensteiger added: "That’s something we’ve got to keep working on — not having these big chunks of the game where we’re struggling. Fortunately, we’ve got Pierre back, and Aldrick is playing great. It’s pretty cool."
Kyle Shanahan, the man behind the man, is shining again - The Washington Post
No member of Washington’s coaching staff is having a better year than the younger Shanahan. And although almost any coach would look good working with Griffin, Shanahan deserves a lot of credit for putting Griffin in the best position to rocket to NFL stardom.
John Riggins: A Football Life (Video) - Hail to the Redskins
NFL Network did a really good special on former Redskins rb John Riggins this week. Riggins is one of the most colorful athletes the NFL has ever seen
