Redskins Getting Healthier Coming Off Bye Week " CBS DC
Right tackle Jammal Brown has been on the PUP with a hip issue since training camp started, right before the first game he had hip surgery, and today practiced for the first time this season. "It felt good," Brown said. Brown also said today, "was a great day for me". "Hopefully soon as possible," Brown said on when he might return. Shanahan said Brown was actually, "better than limited" today and the Redskins have two weeks from tomorrow to activate him from the physically unable to perform list.
The Redskins Blog | You Could Hang Out With Darrel Young
He’s a standout at fullback and on special teams for the Washington Redskins — not to mention he’s also a very funny dude — and YOU have the chance to hang out with him this week. Redskins fullback Darrel Young will be the team’s latest participant in the team’s Google+ Hangouts, which will be Friday at 2 p.m. Here’s how you can be picked to participate:
Redskins notes: Garcon, Meriweather, Brown practice | WashingtonExaminer.com
"I’m still feeling a bit of pain, but I’m out there," Garcon said. "I can’t tell you much of anything that’s going on. It’s not 100 percent, but when I’m out there, I’m just going all out. "It’s a pain every time I’m walking, running, cutting. It’s a pain all the time."
Redskins' Season Starts Now | NBC4 Washington
If there's an upside it's this: Despite Shanahan's ill-timed moment of candor, the 'Skins' season is in front of them. Yeah, it would've helped to win some of those eminently winnable games during the first two months of the season, but unless Dan Snyder owns a time machine it'll have to serve as a learning experience.
Santana Moss says he’s feeling fine after concussion
"I don’t see any down faces in here because of what we’re going through," Moss said. "I didn’t see that before we left. So, you know, guys are loving what they do every day, and that’s all you can do. You look forward to just being out there and putting work in. That’s what I look forward to. I don’t see no change."
Brandon Meriweather hopes to energize Redskins’ secondary
"I’m not necessarily talking about talent because I feel like to be in the NFL, everybody has got to be talented," Meriweather said after Monday’s practice at Redskins Park. "I think just the way I approach the game and the way I play the game, I think, brings a little more excitement to the game."
Are Redskins licking their chops for the Eagles?
The Eagles have regressed since firing defensive coordinator Juan Castillo, allowing 32 points per game in losses to the Falcons, Saints and Cowboys. Philly is planning to start rookie QB Nick Foles on Sunday, in front of an offensive line in disarray. They can’t tackle, they can move the ball but can’t punch it in in the red zone, and for three straight games, as their season has slipped away, they haven’t responded.
The Washington Redskins announced today that they have signed free agent cornerback Anthony "Buddy" Jackson to the team’s practice squad. Jackson (6-1, 180) was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts on April 30, 2012. He saw action in the Colts first preseason game this season before being waived/injured by the team on Aug. 15, 2012.
What this means for the Redskins is opportunity. Now, I caution anyone who's reading this not to mistake my point. As I have written about the Cowboys the past couple of days, just because a team has an opportunity does not mean it will prove good enough to take advantage of that opportunity.
Alfred Morris did not play very much in the second half of the Redskins’ loss to the Panthers. He had 10 carries at halftime, which is about his normal workload, but he had only three carries in the third quarter and none in the fourth. On TV, they said that he had a shoulder injury but Morris said that those reports were blown out of proportion. "It was a stinger," he said. "I came out because I didn’t want to carry the ball and then drop it."
2632—The number of yards the Redskins are on pace to rush for. That would just break the team record of 2625 set in 1983.
There were some rumors that the Redskins put in a claim on him but the Jaguars had priority because they have a worse record than Washington. If the Redskins wanted him back two weeks ago it stands to reason that they might still want him. Exactly when Armstrong was released is unclear (the Jags played last Thursday night) to team will have either from today at 4 p.m. or the same time on Tuesday to put in a claim on him.
The Redskins are losing yet again, but their offense under the stewardship of Kyle Shanahan has been electric. The 32-year-old has done wonders with rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III and will get interviews for coaching vacancies in the offseason
The Redskins rank 28th in total yards allowed, 397.9 per game, allowed 1,258 yards after the catch, 136 first downs and, for the first time since the Nixon administration, have given up at least 22 points per game in three consecutive seasons.
It's back to business for the Washington Redskins who, despite a 3-6 record, find themselves in position to make the postseason thanks to the New York Giants loss on Sunday. On the WWE front, the guys look at a few Superstars who could use a bit of freshening up...
RGIII pays tribute to the military
Being a military kid, I understand the importance of recognizing the veterans," Griffin says in the video. "I have two parents who both did… One did 13, one did 21 years in the military, and I really appreciate them for what they were able to do, and keep us safe, and give us the freedom that we have today."
