The headline match-ups are missing this week, but that does not mean that there are not some interesting game to watch this Saturday.
Before we dive in to college football, how about the news that the ole' Zen Master himself, Phil Jackson, could possibly be returning to coach the Lakers after Brown was fired yesterday! Can you say Holy Sh!t!
Now, on to football.
(1)Alabama vs (15)Texas A&M: Texas A&M has really started to come on strong lately behind that great offensive line led by two future NFL draft picks Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews. The Crimson Tide are the most balanced and complete team in the nation, but they will have their hands full with the Aggies offensive.
Players to watch - OT D.J. Fluker (Alabama), C Barrett Jones(Alabama), CB Dee Milliner (Alabama), S Robert Lester (Alabama), DT Jesse Williams (Alabama), OT Luke Joeckel (Tex A&M), OT Jake Matthews (Tex A&M).
(4)Notre Dame vs Boston College: Notre Dame has had, shall we say, "The Luck of the Irish" on their side this season. Some say they are a team of destiny, but I do not believe in destiny. I say they're a team of "Shit Luck". An easy miss by the Pitt field goal kicker should have knocked them from the ranks of the un-beaten last week, and there is no way that this team can look past Boston College. I'm going out on a limb here, and predicting a 28-27 up-set.
Players to watch - C Braxston Clave (ND), OT Zack Martin (ND), TE Tyler Eifert (ND), DT Louis Nix( ND).
(16)Nebraska vs Penn State: This game may have Big10 Championship implications, and although Penn State can not play for the title, Nebraska can, and they are in a must win situation against the Nittany Lions today in Lincoln.
Players to watch - LB Mike Mauti(PSU), LB Gerald Hodges(PSU).
