Washington Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III was injured on a vicious hit midway through the third quarter, and his return to the game against the Atlanta Falcons is questionable. Via SB Nation DC's Redskins beat report, Dan Shiferaw:
#Redskins announce Griffin's condition as "shaken up". Questionable return.— Daniel Shiferaw (@dshif) October 7, 2012
As Griffin ran towards the the goal line, his feet gave out just as Atlanta linebacker Sean Weatherspoon was bearing down on the Redskins signal caller. Weatherspoon's shoulder hits RGIII square in the helmet:
The hit appeared clean, and no flags were thrown. Griffin was moving very slowly as he headed to the locker room, and after a brief appearance on the sidelines, he headed back to the locker room for what appears to be the game.
Griffin was 11 of 17 passing on the day, for 95 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions. Backup quarterback Kirk Cousins has entered the game, completing two of four throws, including a 77-yard bomb to Santana Moss that put Washington up 17-14 early in the fourth quarter.
