Five Non-Starters to Watch Versus the Falcons

Obviously if the Redskins are to take down the undefeated Falcons this week its going to take a total team effort. With that being said, who are the non-starters who need to step up to win a game that many think is going to be a shootout?

Aldrick Robinson, WR: If the Redskins and Robert Griffin III are going to get in a backyard-like game then he's going to need all his weapons. That also includes Aldrick Robinson who missed last week's game due to Brandon Meriweather colliding with him in warm ups. Robinson should be good to go this week and could be the speedster that takes the top off the defense this week.

Ryan Grant, RB: Another key to the game on Sunday has to be the Skins playing defense with their offense. What I mean by that is keeping Matt Ryan and his gang off the field by controlling the clock on offense. Obviously to do this you need an effective running game, which hasn't been a problem with Alfred Morris. But if we're going to pound the Falcons with Morris on Sunday then we need a healthy, capable back to spell him. That could be Ryan Grant, who was not active last week. No one is sure exactly how healthy Evan Royster is, so don't be surprised if you see Grant in a very Tashard Choice-like role for the Skins on Sunday.

Kedric Golston, DE: Outside of our starters, Golston has likely been our best defensive lineman this season. Chris Baker and Jarvis Jenkins have just not lived up to their hype thus far and Golston is going to be asked to get some pressure on Matt Ryan. The Falcons line has been weak this year, particularly on the right side. Look for Jim Haslett to exploit that.

Richard Crawford, CB: Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White... yea it's going to be all hands on deck for the secondary on Sunday. Beyond the big names the Falcons like to stretch the field with guys like Harry Douglas. The Redskins are going to need to keep fresh legs on the field to help hold Atlanta and Crawford will likely be called upon. The rookie may get a baptism by fire this week.

Reed Doughty, SS: Did I mention the Falcons have a lot of weapons? Doughty and Dejon Gomes are going to have to be on their game on Sunday. The Redskins can bend, but they can't break if they want to win this one.
