For those that listen to our weekly podcast, we end each show doing a round robin for everyone's record prediction. It leads to some ribbing if anyone changes their one from previously. Ken started at 11-5 and was down to 10-6 early. If I told him in pre-season that Mike Shanahan would be declaring in October a "must win" game....I wonder if he'd stay strong? Here's what the Redskins have been saying this week:
"I think everybody knows that it's a must-win game when you're 3-5 at the bye week," Shanahan said. "If you have any chance at the playoffs, everybody understands at the midway point that you've got to start playing your best football or you're eliminated awful quick. We know statistically it's not that way, but realistically that's what happens over the years." [WaTimes]
Alfred Morris on must win? "It's definetly a must-win. It's really hard to go out there and lay it out on the line, when you're losing."

More from locker room: Fletcher, Moss both call this must-win game.

There's a lot to be positive about going into this home game vs Carolina. In the 33-20 loss at Carolina last year, the Redskins had the following things happen, which will not be a factor this year:
- John Beck as their QB (22/37, 1TD, 1 INT, 2 sacks, 1 lost fumble)
- Tim Hightower tore his ACL in the 3rd quarter
- Santana Moss broke his hand in 1st half.
Of course, there's the added bonus that this team faced Cam alst year while the Panthers have the joy of trying to simulate RGIII in practice all week. Lastly, of the Redskins final 8 games, only 2 of those opponents have winning records. Just saying.
