Redskins Draft Prep Round Five: Akiem Hicks or Chandler Harnish?

In the fifth round the Redskins will be looking to add some quality depth to their roster. Last year in the fifth the Skins grabbed two valuable contributors in wide receiver Niles Paul and safety Dejon Gomes. A fifth round prospect that can contribute just as much as those two would be a solid pick for the Skins. So where should the Skins add some depth?

I give you Akiem Hicks versus Chandler Harnish. Hicks is a monster of a nose tackle project from north of the border (Regina), who was supposed to be clogging gaps for LSU. The Redskins scouts expressed a lot of interest in Hicks at the Shrine game, where the 6'5, 305 lbs tackle had a great week. The fifth round is a perfect place to add a little d-line depth.

Beyond the d-line the fifth round is also a good spot to add depth to the quarterback position. I believe the Redskins starting QB situation will be figured out well before the fifth round, by why not start grooming a solid backup also? Harnish would be a perfect fit, he's been profiled a couple of times on HH and was solid in the Shrine Game. He was "the man" at Northern Illinois and it would be great to draft a leader and a guy that could push our starting QB come training camp.
