Our friends over at Ball Hogs Radio orchestrated a panel of 16 very active D.C. twatters, tweeters (or "twittererers" as my Aunt always says), to vote on the best D.C. sports tweet accounts. Actually, BHR radio put it much more eloquently:
We asked 12 of our favorite DMV sports bloggers and podcasters (nobody knows and appreciates their DC sports and Twitter like these guys) to submit their top-20 lists; who they consider to be their most enjoyable, insightful, humorous and engaging sports Twitter follows in the DMV.
A total of 125 tweet handles were voted on, and in the top 20 included, @hogshaven. I truly am humbled that DMVers think so highly of us, mainly because if you look at all the other accounts in that top 20, they are true journalists: Dan Steinberg, Steve Czaban, Chris Russell, Grant Paulsen, Rich Tandler, John Keim, EB from the Junkies, BMitch, Dan Hellie, Ivan Carter, etc.
Despite the "shenanigan-style" angle we write out posts, I am sincerely thankful that the Redskins and SB Nation provide us access to the NFL and team. I unfortunately can't make every practice, OTA, etc, but the fine Redskins beat-writers who have always treat me well, which makes it so fun to cover this team. I wish I could join them, but if I were to quit my 9-5 job and write for Hogs Haven full-time, this is what my food pantry would look like (on a good month):
No variety :-( , but at least I don't have to endure "No soup for you" jokes. I've gotten in debates about this, but I think ORIENTAL is the best Ramen flavor.
