Game Preview: NY Giants at Washington Redskins - Open Thread

There's a lot of good info in these notes. Check them out. Also make sure to check the cleats and gloves Chris Cooley will be wearing (picture after the jump). Brian Mitchell will be broadcasting part of his show from our tailgate, so we'll try to get some video/pics up asap. Make sure to follow us at @hogshaven or the twitter feed after the jump.

FYI - the 2nd half game thread is scheduled for 6:05pm.

Predictions: Redskins 24-14. I think the Redskins defense forces 3 turnovers including a sack fumble and an INT. I don't expect Rex to be perfect since Jason Paul Pierre is a nightmare, but I bet Roy Helu gets on the nation's fantasy football map today.

Kickoff 4:15PM EST
TV Logo_tv_fox_medium
Announcers: Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Pam Oliver
Radio: ESPN 980 (regional station list)
Odds: Redskins +2.5, Over/under 38.5
Not playing LaRon Landry and half the Giants team.
Former Redskins on NYG Devin Thomas, Sage Rosenfels (IR), Jesse Armstead (consultant), RB Andre Brown (on their PS)
Previous Meetings Redskins haven't won since Joe Gibbs (and 9 of last 10). It's very lopsided in 1st quarter points against...47-0 since 2008.
Home openers 38-37-4 all time. Skins have actually won 7 of last 10, including their last 4 home openers.
Head-to-head 92-62-4 (ouch). We beat the Giants in our first game ever in DC...also Sammy Baugh's debut.
Vegas Trends NYG 3-1 against the spread vs DC last 3 years
Notes 23 players on the Redskins roster were from draft picks
Redskins have 29th toughest schedule according to NFL.com
Redskins were 3-1 in OT last year
This is London Fletcher's 209th consecutive game.
