The Redskins have signed undrafted free agent safety Will Hill out of the University of Florida. Hill was a projected 7th rounder who slipped in the draft. Hill is a Free Safety who recorded 48 tackles in 10 games for the Gators this past year. He was named to the All-Freshman SEC team in 2008. ESPN marked his durability as his highest attribute:
Generally takes good angles to the point. Displays natural hands. However, can be more aggressive when attacking and high-pointing the ball at times. Displays enough size to hold up in one-on-one jump ball situations.
Hill will have an uphill battle at the log jam at safety including Atogwe, Landry, Moore, Gomes, Horton, Doughty, and others. But he should be a valuable addition to the training camp roster that could challenge for a spot on the 53 man roster. The Redskins are surely to be more active throughout the night.
UPDATE: The Redskins have not currently signed Will Hill, he is still a free agent
