The Redskins traded their number 10 pick overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Redskins receive the number 16 overall pick and the Jaguars 2nd round pick at 49th overall. Now the Redskins have two 2nd rounders at number 41 and 49.
The Jaguars selected Missouri Quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who was thought to be the second best quarterback in the draft and projected Top Five pick. Tennesee took Washington Quarterback Jake Locker at number 9.
The Redskins now have a lot of options going into later tonight and tomorrow. They still may select a quarterback like Ponder, Mallett, Dalton, or Kaepernick. Now they can get a lot of value in the second round also.
This trade gives the Redskins a big leg up in this draft since they currently do not have a 3rd or 4th round pick. More to come later as the Redskins select at number 16.
