When it comes to mock drafts, Rick Gosselin is historically one of the most accurate. I had the chance to meet the Dallas Morning News journalist at the Combine, and to say I respect this guy is the understatement of the year. The combine is very busy for media folks running around to the different podium interviews and typing articles in between. I would listen to all the big names and relax or type in between. Not Rick Gosselin. All the combine candidates you've never heard of - he's asking them question after question...by himself. Taking notes. Some players conduct table interviews and would only have one journalist show up. Rick Gosselin. This guy has NFL contacts and is very crafty at judging things. So, in his final mock draft, for the Redskins:
Christian Ponder -- QB, Florida State
Mike Shanahan is not going to enter a second season with Donovan McNabb, so the Redskins spent all day Wednesday trying to move up. Gabbert was the target. Failing there, they take the next best QB on the board.
Interesting to say the least. I will disagree. My prediction is the Redskins successfully trade back and are able to secure either Ponder or Kaepernick. (The only guys not linked to Shanahan in the media). See what I did there?
FYI: He has the Cowboys taking Tyron Smith. That makes me very sad.
